The Desk

Three cities, three beats.

Bylines are assigned by subject, not convenience. US federal agencies are written in New York, international and EU regulation and standards in London, and engineering, standards, trade, and logistics in Kingston. The newsroom is a research and editorial operation of Girder Group.

How we assign and label work

Subject determines byline. US federal agencies, the SEC, FINRA, FTC, and FCC, carry a New York byline; the FCA, EU regulation, and international standards including ISO carry a London byline; engineering and standards (NIST) and trade and logistics (CBP, DOT, FMC) carry a Kingston byline. Case studies are labelled at the top as either a Modeled Scenario, an assumption-based illustration that describes no real client, or an Early Design Partneraccount, anonymised at the firm's request and limited to what can be shown.

Every statistic in a research piece carries a source, listed in full at the foot of the article. Where no source exists, the figure does not appear. We do not publish invented clients, logos, testimonials, awards, press mentions, headcount figures, or metrics.
